Although we normally understand the processes we design, the underlying principles and rules upon which it operates, this figure is an exception.

Requests normally come without a sketch or a set-up. We then read into the subject to understand all the principles, and search for ideas how things should look like on the smaller scale. The better we understand what’s going on, the better the results.

But this image was a redesign from an already existing figure. This is why we can not tell in detail whats going on exactly, other than that is has something to do with enzymes and catalysis, a SAM, electric potential which is applied to the enzymes, and FRET.
