The next two figures show two measurements on a Cytochrome C Oxidase enzyme encapsulated in a lipid bilayer membrane. The enzyme is bonded to a gold substrate with a Nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) his-tag. The enzyme, too complex to show in its complete form, is modeled with 8 of its 14 lobes / subunits. The lipid bilayer was modeled specifically for these two figures.
